Selecting a Bodyguard or CPO
Unfortunately there are many "fly by night" operators cropping up each day, each one claiming to be an expert in the field of VIP Protection. The reality is many of these are people simply trying to make a quick buck off the high crime rate in the country, and people’s fears in relation to this.
Our view is that competition in any industry is good and healthy, providing the levels of service are not compromised. When selecting a close protection officer (CPO), make sure you are using a reputable company with an adequate list of references. It is also advisable that you select a company who have a decent track record, and have at least 10 years of operating experience.
Remember guns and dark glasses do not make a bodyguard! Careful planning and intellect are the two key components of any successful protection assignment. Do not be scared to ask questions! After all it is your life and that of your families, bringing a stranger into that environment needs to be very carefully planned!
